Welcome to Habit Tracker with Kabi. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Habit Tracker with Kabi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our app.

2. Information We Collect

Habit Tracker with Kabi is designed with privacy in mind. The app stores data locally on your device and, if you choose, syncs it to your personal iCloud account.

Data You Provide:

  • Habit information (titles, descriptions, icons, colors, categories)
  • Goal settings (target values, units, schedules, reminders)
  • Completion history (dates and times you complete habits)
  • Progress values (numeric tracking data like steps, water intake)
  • Memos and notes (optional text entries and mood selections)
  • App preferences and settings
  • Custom groups and organization preferences

Analytics Data:

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve user experience. This includes:

  • App events (e.g., habit created, onboarding completed)
  • Feature usage (e.g., which categories are popular)
  • General usage patterns (no personal content is tracked)

Important: Firebase Analytics does NOT collect:

  • The content of your habits, memos, or notes
  • Your actual habit completion data or streaks
  • Personal identifying information
  • Device identifiers for advertising purposes

Data We Do NOT Collect:

  • Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Advertising IDs or device tracking
  • Photos, contacts, or other sensitive device data
  • The actual content of your habits or personal data
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the app functionality:

  • Display your habits, goals, and progress
  • Calculate streaks, statistics, and analytics
  • Send local notifications and reminders (if enabled)
  • Sync your data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
  • Generate charts and visualizations of your progress
  • Save your preferences and app settings

Analytics and Improvement:

  • Understand which features are most used to improve the app
  • Track general usage patterns (e.g., how many habits users create)
  • Identify popular habit categories to enhance recommendations
  • Measure onboarding completion to improve first-time experience

Important: Analytics is anonymous and does NOT include the content of your habits, your completion data, or any personal information.

We do NOT use your data for:

  • User profiling or targeting
  • Sharing personal habit content or progress

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on your device and, optionally, in your personal iCloud account:

Local Storage:

  • Data is stored locally using SwiftData, Apple's modern database framework
  • Protected by iOS's built-in encryption and security features
  • Secured by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
  • Stored in the app's sandboxed container, inaccessible to other apps

iCloud Storage (Premium Feature):

  • Uses Apple's CloudKit framework for secure cloud storage
  • Data synced to your personal iCloud account (not accessible to us)
  • Encrypted both in transit and at rest by Apple
  • Managed by Apple's strict security and privacy standards
  • We have NO access to your iCloud data

5. iCloud Sync (Premium Feature)

If you enable iCloud sync:

  • Your habit data is synced to your personal iCloud account
  • Data is encrypted and secured by Apple, not by us
  • Only accessible from devices signed into YOUR iCloud account
  • We cannot access, view, or retrieve your iCloud data
  • You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
  • Disabling sync stops future uploads but doesn't delete existing cloud data

To delete iCloud data:

  • Go to Settings → Sync & Backup
  • Disable iCloud Sync
  • Delete the app from all your devices
  • Or delete iCloud data from iOS Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do NOT share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties.

Third-Party Services We Use:

1. Firebase Analytics (by Google)

  • Used for anonymous usage analytics to improve the app
  • Collects only general app events (no personal content)
  • Does NOT collect advertising IDs or track you across apps
  • Data is anonymized and aggregated
  • Subject to Google's privacy policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

2. Apple iCloud (Optional)

  • Used for syncing YOUR data to YOUR personal iCloud account
  • Fully controlled by you through iCloud settings
  • We have NO access to your iCloud data

What We Do NOT Do:

  • No advertising networks
  • No data brokers or marketers
  • No social media integrations
  • No selling of user data
  • No sharing of personal habit content

Firebase Analytics is privacy-focused and does NOT track your personal habits, goals, or progress. It only tracks general app usage patterns.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Habit Tracker with Kabi is safe for users of all ages, including children:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
  • No account creation or registration required
  • No advertising or third-party content
  • No social features or communication with strangers
  • No location tracking or camera/microphone access

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store, meaning it's suitable for ages 4 and up. However, we recommend parental guidance for young children to ensure appropriate habit tracking and goal setting.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your data:

Access and Export:

  • View all your data within the app at any time
  • Export your habit data (feature available in Settings)

Modify and Delete:

  • Edit or delete individual habits, completions, or memos
  • Reset all app data via Settings → Delete All Data
  • Uninstalling the app deletes all local data permanently

Control Sync:

  • Enable or disable iCloud sync at any time
  • Choose what data to sync (if applicable)

Notifications:

  • Control notification permissions via iOS Settings
  • Disable all reminders within the app

9. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as you use the app:

  • Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • iCloud data persists in your iCloud account until you manually delete it
  • We have NO servers, so we don't store or retain any user data
  • Deleting your iCloud data requires managing it through iOS Settings or deleting the app from all your devices

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated through:

  • App Store update notes
  • In-app notification (if significant changes)
  • Updated 'Last Updated' date at the top of this policy

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
